Kyoto Conference on Bridging Science and Ethics
16 September – 17 September 2023
Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan
The development of science and technology has greatly transformed our lives and society, and the pace of technological innovation promises further disruption yet to come. In the field of bioethics, which deals with diverse problems facing modern society, the impacts of science and technology cannot be ignored. More than ever, it is important to create venues for open and informed dialogue concerning the nature, justification and implementation of technologies that impact on people’s quality of life. Given this situation, Kyoto University has decided to hold an international conference on the theme of “Bridging Science and Ethics.” We invite presentations from graduate students and early career researchers who conduct bioethics research related to science and ethics. We look forward to receiving your applications.
The topics include, but not limited to (1) theories and approaches in bioethics (2) aging and end-of-life care (3) reproduction and genomics and (4) clinical ethics support.
