Dani O’Connor is a lecturer at the Centre of Ethics and Medicine at Bristol University. She joined in January 2022 to work primarily on the BRIDGES:BKY project and to teach medical law and ethics on the intercalated BSc (Hons) in Bioethics and the MBChB Medicine programmes. Prior to joining Bristol, Dani had been a student and lecturer at Cardiff for the past 8 years, where she completed both her LLB and LLM. She is currently nearing completion of her PhD, funded by the AHRC in conjunction with Bristol and Cardiff. Her thesis focuses on advocating for a re-formulation of the best interests test and a move towards relational autonomy, in order to reduce the potential impact of gender stereotypes in decision making.
